Every morning in Barbados, just after the sun comes up, race horses are led down to the beach for a swim to prepare for the days training. Swimming for the horses is non weight bearing and great exercise. The horses seem to love it; their whole bodies relax as they paddle around. There’s this wonderful connection between the people and the animals that’s easy to feel and easy to capture. It’s just a simple, beautiful part of the island’s morning routine.

There’s something special about watching such talented people do what they love in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
